Clip-down underfloor heating with Ridgeline tube

Clip-down underfloor heating holds the heating tube over a suitable insulation layer before it is covered with the specified screed. A Ridgeline system uses flexible stainless steel tube in those heating circuits. The fixing method, pipe layout and floor build-up must work together.

What is included in a clip-down system?

The heating package needs correctly sized tube, compatible clips, perimeter edge insulation, a manifold and complete tube-to-manifold connections. Room controls, actuators and any pump or mixing assembly must match the heating design. Check the individual quotation: structural insulation, screed, floor finishes, electrical work and the primary connection to the heat source are separate parts of the installation.

Clip-down or castellated panels?

Clips fix the tube into suitable insulation. Castellated panels hold it between moulded features. Routed overlay boards provide another method, with channels cut into the boards. These are different floor systems with different material requirements. A clip-down package should not also include a full set of castellated panels unless the project deliberately uses both methods in different areas.

Will ordinary pipe clips fit Ridgeline?

Check the selected clip against the actual covered tube diameter, the insulation material and thickness, and the fixing-tool instructions. A product described for 16 mm plastic pipe is not enough evidence that it fits Ridgeline Pro-FAST 17. Confirm fit before committing to a complete project quantity.

How much tube is needed?

At 200 mm centres, a simple area calculation gives about 5 metres of tube per square metre. A 50 m² heated area therefore needs about 250 metres in the field, before manifold tails, turns and routing allowances. The final continuous circuits must also fit the supplied coil lengths.
